The Next Frontier [in Testing?]

blog_39174291We all know that computer based testing has become increasingly popular during the last decade.  School technology programs, computer games, and home PCs have created an entire generation of students who aren’t intimidated by technology.

Similarly, administrators seeking more cost effective and less labor intensive assessments are turning to computer testing to address the ever increasing demand for data on student progress.

STS is addressing the “next frontier in testing” by offering computer-based versions of several of our most used products.  Our QUIC and HSPT® tests can now be used to test individual students or for group testing on PC.  We are also in the process of developing online assessments for the Illinois Learning Standards Battery (ILSB) and the Interpersonal Intelligence Inventory (III).

To further increase the speed of scoring, several of our testing products provide customers with the ability to receive student reports electronically via PDF.  We are also working to develop computer based technologies to accommodate testing for students with disabilities.

For detailed information about STS’ computer testing products such as QUIC PC or HSPT® E- Score, visit our website or contact me at srich@ststesting.com.

With the computer age well into place, I believe that you are taking the right steps! With the computer, you should be able to give the school, the student and any others immediate feed back with statistics that were only available after a longer period. There are many programs out there for the corporate world where employees get immediate feedback on human resource issues, businees issues, legal issues, accounting issues and many various other business subjects. Companies are using these programs to educate their employees and also validate that their employees are aware of many policies and subjects in the work place. It gives immediate feed back to the employee and also to management.

I believe everyone likes feed back as soon as possible rather than waiting 5 months to see how they did. I am all for this type of testing!

It’s nice to see at least one company pioneering ecology-minded and cost-sensitive solutions to the problems associated with the “old” testing methods. Cost reductions related to not needing paper should be dramatic in and of itself! It’s unfortunate that your company seems to stand alone by offering testing products that incorporate the latest technological developments. Shouldn’t all testing services be heading in this direction?
We look forward to the further developments related to the ILSB. Accommodations for students with disabilities are also in demand, so this enhancement to your “electronic” product lines will be a welcome improvement over what other companies are offering.
We were wondering if your products are available in other languages, too?

I would be very interested in finding out more about the computerized testing for people with disabilities.
