High School Placement Test (HSPT®)

Who can believe it’s already August and the beginning of the school year is just around the corner. Seniors will be entering their last year of high school and kindergarteners will be entering their first year of elementary school.

STS is set to begin another busy fall getting ready to roll out another testing season of the High School Placement Test (HSPT®). The HSPT is the most comprehensive placement test available to assess 8th graders for entrance into high school. The HSPT provides reliable data that’s needed for admissions, placement, remediation and scholarship decisions. The rigorous content of the HSPT helps prepare students for the demands of a high school curriculum.

The HSPT provides national normative measures in the following cognitive and basic skills areas: verbal and quantitative skills, reading, mathematics and language. Optional tests in science and Catholic religion are available at no additional cost. Testing time for the HSPT is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

In order for high schools to save time with their many applicants, check out the Online Registration system. This allows families to sign up electronically to take the HSPT while also paying the testing fees online. High schools receive immediate registration confirmation to easily track registrants.

STS can also upload HSPT reports to the Report Center. Schools will no longer wait for the paper reports to arrive and avoid extra shipping costs. All you need to do is download, view and print the reports when needed.

Call STS today at 1.630.766.7150 to inquire about the HSPT and what it can do for you.
